Pawf. Charles’ Firework Tips

HOOMAN! Find out how to keep your pet comfortable and calm during the Firework festivities, courtesy of BorrowMyDoggy…

Top tips:

Try to walk your dog as early as you can, before it gets dark and before any fireworks have started.

When walking, keep your dog on the lead to stop them running away if they hear any sudden noises.

Keep doors and windows closed to minimise the noise from outside.

Putting the TV or radio on nice and loud will help to distract your pets from the sound of fireworks.

Playing with your dog will also help you keep them distracted.

Provide your dog with a safe space to hide in. This could be their crate covered with a blanket, or their bed tucked under a small table (as featured in the video). So long as it’s cosy, somewhere quiet and your dog can come and go as they please, you can’t go far wrong.

Stay home with your pets – they’ll find your presence very comforting!

For particularly nervous pets, you could try a natural calming aid such as Vetpro: stress & anxiety.
